SayIt works as a speech overlay technology which converts speech to text for dictation, and/or command and control. SayIt works seamlessly with any Windows program and most Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Simply launch the SayIt cloud-based client, direct your cursor where you would like to insert text, and speak your notes. Spoken words will be converted to text in real-time and inserted directly into the EHR or other system of record. Additionally, you can use SayIt voice commands to navigate and populate discrete data fields, or SayIt “pop-up” shortcuts to access dropdown menus by click or touch.
SayIt works with a wide variety of popular EHRs including Epic, Cerner, CPSI, MEDITECH, AllscriptsTM, NEXTGEN®, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, CareCloud, GreenwayTM, and many more.
Yes! SayIt has a “Substitutions” feature, which allows users to customize the returning text to include unique terms and acronyms. This can be tuned at the organization level as well as for individuals. Additionally, local vocabulary can be incorporated within the SayIt language modeling features to further improve dictation accuracy.
While you can use your computer’s built in microphone, for most computers and tablets, SayIt performs best with an external USB microphone; a wide variety of mics and headsets are supported, including wireless capabilities for iPhone and Android smartphones. Since becoming commercially available in 2011, the SayIt healthcare solution is now being used by a wide variety of regional hospitals, ambulatory clinics and care facilities, as well as, medical providers including family practice, orthopedics, neurologists, radiologists, podiatrists and many others.
